You can go up on foot, by bicycle or by car, but where the road running from Passo Cimirlo towards the Marzola comes to an end, everyone meets at the Rifugio Maranza on one of the most welcoming terraces overlooking the Adige Valley. Trento is 800 metres below, but it’s hidden by trees and can’t be seen. The Brenta, on the other hand, is clearly visible, up there between Bondone and Paganella where the sun sets. But people don’t just come to this refuge - owned by Trento city council and renovated in 2008 with large concessions to modernity, a lot of glass combined with wood - to admire the view: let the children play on the meadow while you enjoy a meal cooked by Paolo, who does wonder with local slow food presidia. Open Every day from early June to late September From 24 December to 6 January and during Easter week And every weekend throughout the year Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks From Rifugio Maranza it’s an easy two-hour walk to the top of the Marzola (a height gain of almost 700 metres); your reward will be the sweeping views that can be enjoyed from the summit.
