Suoni delle Dolomiti: Renaud Garcia Fons Trio
La vie devant soi
From Jazz to World Sounds: A Journey on the Strings of a Double Bass Virtuoso He has been called the "Paganini of the double bass," and for good reason: Renaud Garcia-Fons is one of the foremost specialists in his instrument, using all its expressive, especially melodic, resources through virtuosic bowing. Influenced by his teacher and mentor François Rabbath, he turned to jazz after studying at the conservatory and then explored world music from Andalusia, Latin America, India, and the Arab world, while never abandoning his Mediterranean roots and making the most of his classical background. In the Giasenei area, above the village of Sagron Mis, between the Pale di San Martino and Cimonega - Vette Feltrine ranges, Renaud Garcia-Fons will perform in a trio with accordionist David Venitucci and vibraphonist and percussionist Stephen Caracci. They have recorded the album La vie devant soi, which is rich in chamber music flavours and nuances. The accessibility theme at I Suoni delle Dolomiti is always central: this event is easily reachable for people with mobility issues, while also being intimate and off the beaten path. The Dolomitic landscape is accessible to everyone, also thanks to the imposing Torre T3, a 30-meter-high observation tower offering breath-taking views of the mountain ranges surrounding the area. The tower, only 100 meters from the amphitheatre, is a privileged observation point for the Dolomites UNESCO system, of which Sagron Mis is the gateway. It is equipped with an elevator that provides easy access to the observation point. Car Pooling New!
